Closed for construction until fall 2023!
Dokumentation Obersalzberg, supervised by the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History, is a place of learning and remembrance relating to the history of Obersalzberg and the National Socialist dictatorship.
The Dokumentation Obersalzberg is currently closed due to construction work. This also includes the bunker. The previous building will be transfered into an educational center, and in our new building the new permanent exhibition will be installed.
The reopening is expected to take place in fall 2023. We are very sorry for the delay, which is due to severe supply chain problems. To receive updates on our work and information on the historical site please follow us on social media:
Guided tours, seminars and workshops
Booking of guided tours, seminars and workshops for the time after 1 October will be possible starting 1 August 2023. Further information will be available in due time.
Virtual tour through the old exhibition
A total of 3,192,832 people have visited our old permanent exhibition between 1999 and 2021. In the meantime, we have taken it down after 22 years of existence. But that doesn't mean it has disappeared completely. You can now visit the old exhibition online in a virtual 360° tour.
