Prologue

Prologue

"Extreme political concepts promising to provide the 'final solution' for all possible problems never serve human aims; rather they degrade human beings and their values to mere instruments of a destructive power mania and a barbaric regime. Against the background of old and new forms of extremism stands the fact, that such extreme concepts are doomed to failure, regardless of where they originate, and that today is the hope which can be drawn from the refutation and downfall of Hitler."

Karl Dietrich Bracher (1976)
