20 years Dokumentation Obersalzberg

Sunday 20th of October 2019

That was a reason for us to celebrate on Sunday. At the ceremonial act in the morning, District Administrator Georg Grabner, the Bavarian State Minister of Finance Albert Füracker and the head of the Institute of Contemporary History Andreas Wirsching spoke. Volkhard Knigge (Director of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation) held a speech. In addition to much praise for the work done, there were also admonitory words, not to take our democratic values for granted, but to defend them.

In the afternoon, many visitors informed themselves about our new permanent exhibition. There were free guided tours throughout the day, which were in such high demand that we spontaneously had to offer additional tours. In total, nearly thousand guests came to the various offers in the documentation. Thank you for celebrating with us!
